Wayne Emde was never a cadet, but he served with the Canadian Scottish Regiment in the early 60s, taking part in the Presentation of the Colours by Princess Mary in 1962.
After graduating from the University of Victoria, he had a 33 year career as a secondary school teacher in Cranbrook and Vernon, teaching English, History, Journalism, Photography and Graphics. He also served 33 years in the Public Affairs Office at Vernon Cadet Training Centre, photographing and writing about the activities of the cadets and officers for publications across Canada and taking part in the training of other Public Affairs Officers. In retirement from teaching, he has continued to photograph and write for newspapers and magazines, teach at Okanagan College and present travelogues on his journeys to more than 30 countries. |
