Lisa has been a volunteer with the Vernon Cadet Camp Museum since 2015 joining the board when asked if she was interested. Since 2018 Lisa has taken on the role of secretary for the Vernon Military History Society.
While Lisa was never an Army Cadet, she started in 1992 as an Administration Clerk in the Air Reserve Force in Moose Jaw. She moved to Vernon in 2001 where she transferred to the British Columbia Dragoons in Kelowna. In 2004 she left the Primary Reserve to join the staff at 223 Red Lion Air Cadet Squadron as a Civilian Instructor because both of her boys were Air Cadets and they needed help. In 2005 she moved over to 1705 British Columbia Dragoons Army Cadet Corps. She enrolled in the CIC in January of 2006. Lisa started working at the Vernon Cadet Camp in 2005 as a Civilian dispatcher for the Buses. In 2006 Lisa started working at the Camp as a CIC member and has held the positions Bank Officer, Platoon Commander, Company Administration Officer and 3 years as the Camp Administration Officer. Since 2005 she has spent 12 of the 14 years at the Vernon Cadet Camp and last year went to Whitehorse Cadet Camp. Lisa’s children are grown and no longer cadets, but her oldest is now a CIC Officer as well. Lisa married her husband Corey in 2013 and they reside in Vernon and are both active in cadets and the Vernon Cadet Museum and Vernon Military Historical Society |
