Sixty years strong, the camp begins on Canada Day with another training summer, with the RSM's change of appointment from CWO Al Williams to CWO Glen Eversfield, and the raising of the newly approved CIC flag. B35 is converted into the permanent intake and reception centre. Over 1200 cadets arrive July 3-4 to begin training.
The CTC exersises its Freedom of the City in honour of the CIC's centennial with a march past through downtown Vernon. LCol Christian Bergeron CD, D/Cadets visits the camp. LCol Al Bratland, CO of the Rocky training centre visits the camp as the reviewing officer of the 1st intake 2 week grad parade. MGen Dennis Tavvenor CMM, CD, Chief - Reserves and Cadets visits the CTC as well. A museum exhibition celebrating the CIC 100th anniversary is put on by the Greater Vernon Museum and Archives.
The annual battalion sports day is held on a hot 35c day, plenty of water consumed. Guard Coy's annual community service is held at the Pleasant Valley cemetery, presenting every military grave with a poppy and flag.
The VACC Alumni makes a final generous donation to the CTC before standing down. BGen Kelly Woiden, CD, Deputy Commander LFWA and General Walter J. Natynczyk, CMM, MSC, CD the Chief of Defense Staff, visit the CTC in the last few days
