The Colonel Comandant of the RCAC, MGen John Sharpe, is reviewing officer for Change of Command parade from LCol Daigneault to LCol T.W. Kopan held on Sicily Square a few days before the arrival of course cadets.

Scuba diving is again offered as an optional reward program for cadets. Certification is conducted on Okanagan Lake. Skaha bluffs continue to be used for advance rock training, with access to 190' descents. Basic obstacle course continues very successful use, built in front of B35 facing Sangro Avenue. Basic cadets get huge audiences on training evenings form more senior cadets. The Shuswap River is once again used for whitewater training. Mountain bike training becomes a popular part of expedition training, with a multi-day trip over the KVR trail crossing the numerous former railroad wooden trestles.

The annual battalion sports day is another success and high point for the cadets on the August long weekend. Hundreds of watermelons and gallons of water are consumed to cool everyone down during the hot day on the sports field. Band Company puts on a performance on Coutts Common with nearly the entire cadet battalion in attendance.

A plesant 26c sunny day for the final parade on 16th August. RCMP Deputy Commissioner Beverley Busson was the reviewing officer.
