Camp started with an additional 50 cadets training for the Nijmegan March in the Netherlands. After a final week training they departed for Holland to march in the annual event, a first for cadets.
Skulling was introduced as a sports period for course cadets, the 6-man skulls are paddled on Swan Lake. The highly successful Adventure course evolves with mountain biking on the KVA. Military history lectures now expanded, all CL and CLI cadets.
The CF Skyhawks performed a parachute drop onto Dieppe Square in August, thrilling cadets and spectators. the 8th Canadian Recce Regt held their final reunion, members of the unique regiment were now in the mid 70s to mid 80s.
Two seving officers were married on Coutts Common in mid-July. Captains Janet Colbourn and Ian Treuer met at the camp in 1994. The bride wore a flowing wedding dress, the groom a scarlet mess kit. The day before the final parade saw the tragic loss of Lt Tony Leher, who died in a traffic accident on his way home an early from camp.
Final Parade held on Aug 18th. The day started out sunny, temperature in the low 20s. The Snowbirds provided a flyover above the camp. Threatening thunderstorm clouds forced the final parade into F20 drill hall at the top of camp, for the first time in the camp's history. Rear Admiral Ron Buck was the reviewing officer. At 7AM on Sunday morning the last bus departed for the lower mainland, with the final 37 cadets.
