Pre-camp training began two weeks before the arrival of course cadets, with refresher for officers and staff cadets alike. Several new courses were offered for course cadets besides the traditional courses: CLI-QM; CLI Small bore; Basic Army cadet Marksman; CLI Band; CLI-Physical Education and Recreation Training. Thompson Plateau and Becker Lake were used for field training. Besides using a patrol car, military police began using mountain bikes in the camp. This proved to be a success and would be employed in future years. Building B-35 was now used as company training offices for Bravo through Gulf Companies. Hotel and India Companies training offices were located in B-16. The Thompson Plateau, Becker Lake, Coldstream Ranch were again used for adventure training.
Battalion sports day, as it was known, was again held on the sports field. Swim Parade continued to be held at Kin Beach and Paddlewheel Park. The water slide park was used for recreation for several Companies. Col Handley, CD was the reviewing officer for the two week grad parade on July 16th. BGen Kilby, CD, was the reviewing officer for the two-week grad parade on August 4th. MGen Addy, OMM, OStJ, CD, was the reviewing officer for the graduation parade on Auguest 18th.
