Pre-camp training was conducted for most staff from company commanders to staff cadets. Cadet courses held this summer included three intakes of 2-week Basic army cadet, three intakes of 2-week basic air cadet, two intakes of 3-week Junior Cadet Course (Cadet Leader), one 3-week intake of wilderness basic, the 6-week senior leader course (Cadet Leader Instructor) and the band courses. Hunters Range, Bear Creek, Goose Lake, Mabel Lake and Grizzly Lake training areas were used for adventure training. This was the final year of the exchange program for USMC Jr ROTC cadets ending a great 12-year relation.
In recognition of the camp's 40th anniversary, a huge cake was made for a celebration on Coutt's Common, midway through camp. The camp newspaper "The Sapling" began publication. Maj Con Furey OC of Band Coy composed "Sans Pareil", unofficially for the camp and its anniversary. The PPCLI monument was dedicated on Patricia Way. Band Company performed at Okanagan falls and at Noric House. The annual sports meet was now held at the camp instead of Polson Park. LGen Quinn, CD, Colonel Commandant RCACC was the reviewing officer for grad parade August 17th.
