Actor Martin Sheen considered the camp for the site of his new picture "Cadence". Sheen was then invited to inspect the cadets. This was quite a thrill for the many who have seen him star in numerous films. White water training continued on Shuswap River.
Mayor Anne Clark was invited to inspect the first of four graduation parades. The sports day was held in the camp, marking the end of Polson Park as the sports day site. Band Coy played an evening concert in Polson Park, attracting an audience of 350 people. As well, the band traveled to Princeton Glider School for their grad parade. The Hon Lyle Hanson, Minister of Labour & Consumer Affairs for the Province of BC, was the reviewing officer for the grad parade, August 18th.
