In a 2-year experiment, CL companies were changed to two 3-week intakes. Cadet Lynn Carson (Jr ROTC USMC) was the first USMC staff cadet. The new abseil site opened on the south end of the camp training area at Graduation Rock. Whitewater canoe training was held on the Shuswap River at the Kingfisher Park site.

A Coy paraded in the Penticton Peach Festival. LCol V. Lilley and Col J.P. Beer visited the camp as reviewing officers for junior leader grad parades. Band and Alpha Coys paraded at the Penticton Peach Festival. Swim parades were held at Paddlewheel Park. BGen Kilby CD, presided as reviewing officer at the grad parade.

Sword of Honour winner: Cadet Scott Waesler, 72 Seaforth Highlanders of Canada RCACC.
