Camp began on the second weekend of July with 1000 cadets arriving to begin the courses. Most arriving at Kelowna Airport were greeted by LCol Snow, CO of the camp. Continuing improvements on the buildings enhanced and modernized the camp, thus allowing other units and cadet crops increased usage year round. The Cadet bonus was increased to $240 from $100. Col Simpson Base CO CFB Chilliwack visited camp. Regular Force Sgt Majors were no longer available to staff the positions of Company Sergeant Majors, that role taken over by the most senior staff cadets.
The camp exercised its Freedom of The City during the morning on Aug 20. The royal license plates that were mounted on the official cars accompanying HRH Princess Margaret on her Cross Canada tour in 1959-60, were donated to the officer's mess by former mess manager Robert Kelley. What makes the plates so unique is they are the last of their kind.

The BNACC band paid a 5-day visit to the camp. Grad parade held Aug 20, RAdm W.E. Hughes, CD reviewing officer.
