Camp takes on a Tri-Service atmosphere as Air and Sea cadets attend training for the Cadet Tri-Service Tattoo, to tour throughout the province Aug 17-31 immediately after camp, in celebration of Canada's Centennial year.
Adventure training base camps established at Sugar and Mabel Lakes. For the first time, an exchange program was instituted between Camps Vernon, and Farnham, Quebec. The cadets from Camp Vernon were able to attend EXPO 67 in Montreal. The cadets arriving from Farnham, commanded by Major J.L. Parent, were treated to tours in the southern interior of BC, and Vancouver. Exchange deemed a great success.
Officer training company trained 42 candidates, OC Capt Jim Coutts. PT School - Cadet Leader Physical Training Course inaugurated, 29 cadets on course. Highlight of the course, a 10 mile run. Guard Coy topped the sports meet.
The RCAF Golden Centennaires performed for the cadet camp Aug 10. Minister of National Defence, Paul Hellyer, visited the camp as reviewing officer for grad parade. A pair of RCAF P2V-7 Neptune aircraft performed a flyby at the closing.
