Sugar Lake used for training instead of Glenemma for one year. Officer's training company offers five courses, and river crossing is introduced to the field exercise component.

The RCAF's Red Knight put on a flying display over the camp in his T-33 jet. guard Coy wins best Junior marching unit at Penticton Peach Festival. Several Chartered DC6B aircraft fly most of the cadets home at the end of camp.

After camp in the end of August, all the militia units from across BC are concentrated at Vernon before continuing on a read move and a 3 day battalion exercise at Riske Creek, just west of Williams Lake.
