The Pre-Banff Course for 13 Cadets was held at Vernon. The 2 week Junior cadet course was also re-introduced. Cadet Leader Courses were introduced replacing some of the trades courses. the $100.00 bonus was continued for all course cadets except junior cadets. Representative cadets attended the Kelowna Regatta, Penticton Peach festival and the PNE in Vancouver.

As for food, 15,600 candy bars, 2,900 pounds of assorted sweets, 3,000 milk shakes, 7,680 revel bars (ice cream) and 60,000 bottles of pop were consumed in the cadet canteen over the summer. This was besides the regualr meals and 9 p.m. "mug ups".

In July, a huge fire wiped out the western Canada Pad and Drum plant in Vernon. Cadets helped cordon off the area, while regular military personnel assisted the firefighters.

The second cadet show was held just south of the camp. the 1st Bn Queens Own Rifles and Lord Strathcona Horse (Royal Canadians) Bands were in attendance for the show, as was the Vernon McIntosh Girls Pipe Band. As well, there were displays of gymnastics and demonstration of jeep driving and of assembling a jeep from several parts. A farewell dance was held at the Civic arena on Tuesday the 20th for the cadets. The camp was visited by Col P.B. Buell DSO, CD; Col Jim Stone DSO, MC, CD and Major General Chris Vokes
