Now Called Vernon Cadet Trades Training Camp (VCTTC), The camp was broken down into three wings: Senior Leaders Wing with three companies of three platoons each. Signals Wing with two companies of four platoons each. Last the Driver Mechanic wing with two companies of four platoons each. Major General Chris Vokes inspected the cadet camp for the third year in a row. 

This year there were also more camp improvements like propane stoves and dishwashers installed int he kitchens and a total of 3300 feet of roads were paved. 

The first annual cadet regatta was held August 14 at Okanagan Landing with a boxing tournament and a sports meeting on August 16 and 18 respectively.  Cadet from the camp again competing in the Kelowna Regatta where Cadet LCpl S.L. Stohard won the 14 and under 50 yard freestyle swim. Cadet S.C. Bell won the camp grand aggregate for shooting as well as the City of Kamloops shield, defeating military and civilian shooters twice and three times his age. Second place went to Cadet Bob Saunders.
