As it was in 1949 the training was conducted in two phases, phase one was the annual cadet training from 5 July - 14 July then phase two from 17 July - 19 August being the trades training.
This year would see an increase in of cadets who attend the camp to 1200 for phase one. Brigadier General M.P Bogart DOS, OBE was the reviewing officer on July 19th closing parade in Polson Park.
After this camp was competed 450 cadet remained for the the phase 2 trades training. The course offered this year were the Driver & Mechanic (D&M), Signals, Fire Control Equipment, or Medical Assistants courses. 22 cadets from the 450, were selected to take part in the National Cadet Camp in Banff.
Due to a threatened rail strike in 1950, the camp was forced to close one week early.
